What happens “if Alice in Wonderland fell down the rabbit hole and met a makeup artist instead of the Mad Hatter”? Well according to WWD, a new MAC color collection with Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet Eisner! When I heard the news I could not have been more excited. Not only do I love MAC but just recently I have fallen even more in love with the trendy fashion label Alice + Olivia. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the line, Alice + Olivia is an American founded fashion brand that today can be spotted on some of Hollywood’s most fabulous, from Kate Hudson and Taylor Swift to Angelina Jolie and plenty of others. Known for their contemporary clothing designs, especially those catered towards working women, Alice + Olivia is now sold in more than 800 stores, worldwide as well as in stand-alone boutiques found in New York, Southampton, Los Angeles, Greenwich and Malibu. Since the launching of the brand in 2002, the line has gradually grown into a full lifestyle collection offering everything from party dresses and coats to embellished t-shirts and sweaters, and back to the pants that initially started it all. Stacy has also expanded into accessories with jewellery, scarves and most recently after collaborating with MAC, will be releasing a Limited Edition MAC Alice+ Olivia collection available this July!
Known for flirtatious party-wear featured on various Red Carpet affairs, and of course our favourite TV fashionista, Blaire Waldorf (Gossip Girl), the label’s entrance into the makeup world seems almost predictable. With what is considered inspiration from the classic tale of Alice in Wonderland, the Alice+Olivia MAC collection will include an array of vibrant, feisty shades for lips, eyes and nails. The result of this partnership includes a playful variety of shades from dark plum nail polish, neon yellow crème lip gloss, and an almost black shimmer pigment. Though you may be thinking some of these shades sound a little over the top, I can assure you, you’re bound to find at least one or two items to love! My personal faves are: “So Rich, So Pretty” – a bright purple with pearl nail polish and” If It Sparkles” – a white with transforming pink pearlized pigments that can add a little shimmer to your any day or evening look!
