I talk and talk about how in the shimmery glitter is this season, but I have never actually written about some of my favorite pieces and where to find some hot sequin gear. Lets work from head to toe!
Hats -
Sequin tuque’s are a super cute way to keep your head warm this winter, while giving your heavy winter wear a feminine feel! You can find similar fashions to the one pictured right at stores like H&M, J. Crew, Zara, etc.
Scarves -
I love scarves, in all shapes, styles and patterns. A sequin scarf is a great way to glitter up a boring garment, and
make acasual look a little more eye-catching. Putting on a scarf is an effortless way to jazz up your ensemble, and this example by Juicy Couture (pictured right) demonstrates just that!
Blazers -
My favorite piece in my closet is my sequin blazer. I wrote about my adventures trying to find the perfect sequin blazer earlier, but I can’t talk about sequins without mentioning it again. I LOVE my Costa Blanca loose fitting, cropped, three quarter sleeve jacket. It fits well, I feel great in it, and I get that glittery glam vibe which is why we wear sequins in the first place! Almost every fashion retailer is now carrying some form of a sequin jacket/blazer, from Winners to Holt Renfrew, you can pick up something that suits your style and your wallet! Coco Models’ Ashlyn and Samantha are pictured wearing sequin blazers. Ashlyn’s look is edgy (left), whereas Samantha’s
look is cute (right). This just goes to show that sequins can suit everyone and every style, whether you’re going for a darker or girly vibe, you can find something that suits you and keeps up with this trend!
Tops -
Sequin tops are awesome, because you can wear them with jeans for a cool casual look, or you can wear them with leggings or a skirt for a dinner date or a night out on the town. I have a few tops with sequin detailing from H&M, Costa Blanca, Zara, Urban Outfitters, and a bunch from Winners (Seriously, check out the one at College and Yonge… AMAZING)! Below are three awesome examples of sequin tops. Whether you’re going for an all over shine of just a pinch of spice, a top is a wonderful way to make your outfit look nice! Dresses -
Sequin dresses will be your best fashion friend at holiday parties this year. Coco Models’ Nicola shows off just how darn dazzling sequin dresses can be
(right). Below are a few examples from French Connection, Alice + Olivia, BCBG, Juicy Couture, of how to get that holiday shine all the time. There is again, no one place you can find a sweet sequin dress, so just keep your eyes pealed for the perfect garment!

Skirts -
If you don’t want to bedazzle your body by wearing a full sequin dress, then maybe try a skirt! Sequin skirts are great because you don’t have all the glittery fuss around your face, but you still get to have that sparkle in your outfit. Here are four of my favorite examples by Victoria’s Secret, Chloe, DKNY and Valentino.

Women of all ages can sport a skirt like these. Even teenage star Miley Cyrus is pictured below wearing a Free People sequin skirt, showing off how casual this look can be.
Leggings -
I’m very cautious to approach the subject of sequin leggings, even haute ones like this ABS by Allen Schwatz pair (left). For some
reason all I can think of is an 80s party I went to in high school where I swiped a pair of my friend’s mom’s pants from back in the day. Sequins wrapped tightly around your legs are damn itchy and annoying, and to be honest, I only really like them on rail thin girls. However, there are ways to add that subtle sequin touch to a pair of pants. For example, this DKNY sequin trim pair of leggings (right) are ready to wear for ladies of all ages and sizes.
Shoes – Last, but definitely not least; SHOES! Sequin shoes can sometimes look cheap, but if you get a good style and fit, a little added shine will do you just fine! Check out these flats by Valentino, peep-toes by LAMB, and pumps by Ralph Lauren. These are all hot shoes and will give a little twinkle to your toes!
